Talk: Blueprint for an Agile Enterprise: Plans, Tools &Techniques for Building a Human Enterprise

Would you like your whole organization to act and ‘feel’ more like an Agile team? Starting up Agile teams is a well understood process; expanding Agile to the organization level is definitely not! Having applied an organization development perspective and methods to Agile implementation for over 8 years, a multi-layer organizational architecture has emerged for building a truly human enterprise. Each level has an overall perspective, specific tools and key practices. In this one hour session, we will very briefly explore the 7 levels, then drill down on the organizational culture level. Participants will be able to do a brief assessment of their own culture, seeing either why Agile fits, or why it goes against the grain of their organization. Topics include organization culture, leadership, organization change, team performance, and management’s role. You’ll leave with a template to customize an organization change plan for your business unit or organization. [Note: this is a ‘post-view’ of an invited tutorial for the Agile 2010 Conference in Orlando.]
